I am a freelance Digital Archaeologist specialising in photogrammetry and various 3D capture methods having spent over 30 years in this field both commercially and as a lecturer teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
My research interests focus on historical reconstruction and when not teaching or working on material for the Amarna3D project I am usually experimenting in the field of photogrammetry, the digital 3D reconstruction of various historical sites, or doing archaeological research. A number of my active interests are shown below. Please click through to find out more.

Sunrise over the Quayside This view is early in the morning as the sun rises over the city. The direction is facing east here.
Projects / Experiments
I work across a range of historical periods and geographical locations experimenting on different ways of reconstructing artefacts and locations through drone photography, on-site surveying and cloud sourced photogrammetry. I use a mixture of automated reconstruction and traditional manual editing (sculpting) to refine models. These are combined with techniques used within the games industry to optimise, enhance and display work in a variety of formats.
GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH
Finding out where you came from is a fundamental question we all ask at one time or another. My interest in genealogy lies in understanding not only who my ancestors were, but where came from and what events happened during their lifetime. In order to accomplish this I use traditional genealogical research methods combined with geographical information systems (GIS). Where possible I use this information during my 3D historical reconstruction work to enhance my understanding of the project and consequently give a more accurate finished product.
